Eight dead in Senegal after stampede at football stadium
Eight people have died at a football stadium in Senegal, after a wall collapsed at the end of a game.
Police fired tear gas on supporters, in an attempt to break up fights between rival fans, leading to panic and a stampede.
The wall then came down on people attempting to flee, with at least 49 injured in the incident.
Campaigning for the country’s upcoming elections has been suspended for Sunday as a mark of respect.
