DXB Entertainments records rising visitor numbers despite Q3 revenue slip

The Dubai-based theme park operator DXB Entertainments reported a third-quarter loss of AED 284 million, even as visitor numbers showed a steady increase.

Visitor numbers at its theme parks including Motiongate and Legoland rose to 479,000 in July, August and September – up from 414,000 in the previous three months.

The firm marked AED 286.2 million for the second quarter of this year.

However, revenue dropped by 3.7 per cent compared with the second quarter. The firm said the drop was a result of seasonal discounting and visits to the Lapita Hotel, which offers room rates that include theme park tickets.
