The Thursday Brunch: Veganuary! #DubaiToday

January marks Veganuary! Sally Mousa welcomes vegan chef extraordinaire, Athena Matheou of Be Super Natural and Orit Mohammed of Boon Coffee to talk about some vegan tips, recipes and ingredients.

Athena went from being a full omnivore and having a host of health issues to overnight becoming a vegan. Now five years on she has dedicated her life to making vegan foods and sharing the vegan philosophy and vegan food tips through her vegan cooking courses. She makes her own vegan cheese which is available at Be Super Natural Kitchen in Dubai Mall and heads the kitchen which produces a comprehensive raw food menu.

Orit has been a vegetarian since she saw animals being slaughtered in her homeland of Ethiopia whilst growing up.

They will be looking at the latest food news stories, talking about their vegan choices and recipes and discussing whether supermarkets are doing the right things when providing vegan options such as a £2 “cauliflower steak” in a UK supermarket.

You can win a fantastic 500 dirham voucher for Be Super Natural Kitchen if you guess the mystery ingredient in today’s competition.
