Eye on Health: Skin Cancer #DubaiToday

Today from 11am we have Dr Pegah Ceric Dehdari, Specialist Dermatologist and Medical Director of Cosmesurge and Emirates Hospital joining Suzanne Radford in the studio to talk about skin cancer.

According to the World Health Organisation one in every three cancers diagnosed is a skin cancer, with between 2 and 3 million non-melanoma skin cancers and 132,000 melanoma skin cancers occurring globally each year. The main factors that predispose to the development of melanoma seem to be connected with recreational exposure to the sun and a history of sunburn. What can be done to raise awareness and prevent skin cancer and what are the best methods of early detection?

There is a good chance that skin cancer can be cured if diagnosed and treated early.
