Dr. Elsayed Ahmed Mohamed From IFAW Plus The Animal House On #DubaiToday

First off this morning Emma Brain, sitting in for Suzanne Radford, will be speaking to Dr Elsayed Ahmed Mohamed from the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) about the illegal trade of exotic animals.

Founded in 1969 in Canada and in the UK in 1981, IFAW saves individual animals, animal populations and habitats all over the world. Dr Elsayed Ahmed Mohamed is the regional director for IFAW in the middle east and north Africa and has largely focused on training government officials who are responsible for implementing CITES convention agreements.

Dr Elsayed organises Prevention of Illegal Wildlife Trade (Wildlife Law Enforcement) training in many Arab-speaking countries and works to increase capacity for fighting the trade within the region. This includes implementing Animal Action Education programmes for school children and conservation campaigns for the public in Middle Eastern and North African countries.

Following that Emma will be joined in studio by our Animal House experts, Dr Lucinda Natrass and Todd Carson from Dubai Kennels and Cattery to take your pet questions, talk about this week’s animal news and give clues for our Mystery Animal competition where you can win two months supply of pet food from Royal Canin
