Dubai’s trade with Qatar reportedly grew 92 per cent in the period from 2011 to 2016.

According to national news agency WAM, it reached AED15 billion last year, compared to AED 7.8 billion in 2011.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) customs union is reportedly trying to integrate the GCC countries by supporting trade between them and helping them attract more global investment to the region.

The UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman are six members of the Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
