Dubai puts plans in place to avoid floods during rain
You won’t have to worry too much about floods across Dubai this rainy season.
Dubai Municipality has prepared an integrated plan to prevent waterlogging across the Emirate.
Officials say that rainwater will flow into one of 72,000 drainages, through a complex network of pipes, then into any of the 51 pumping stations across the city.
The system ends by pumping the water to its final destination, such as artificial lakes in Dubai or into the sea.
Areas where these systems cannot be found will have a fleet of 86 mobile pumping stations and 41 tank trucks prepared to serve unconnected areas as well.
