Last weekend Lloyd and Lumber heard the sound of Distant Drums and headed down to Bur Dubai to investigate.

For 25 years Al Fahidi Street has been home to Al Meher Recording, a small record store that specialises in the music of the late country singer Jim Reeves. Many other record stores have come and gone but Al Meher Recording remains and when you speak to the owner Intesar Salim you realise why.

Salim has a real passion for the music of Jim Reeves and has spent much of his life collecting and preserving his collection. Displayed in his store are many rare vinyl's and CDs each with a story behind it!

Salim is always happy to chat and proudly shares the history behind his personal collection and his record store which boasts many loyal customers who come back time and time again.

His passion for gentleman Jim Reeves is also shared by his family and Salim's prize possession is a portrait of Jim given to him for his birthday by his son.

It's well worth a visit and Salim will say Welcome To My World upon arrival!
