Captain blamed in deadly boat crash in Russia
The captain of a boat that collided with a barge on the Volga river in Russia – killing 11 people – is likely to be blamed for the crash.
That’s according to the local medical office, which said blood tests revealed he was under the influence at the time of the accident.
Russian Investigative Committee’s initial investigation showed the vessel, which had not been registered with authorities, was overloaded and had only six life jackets onboard, all of which were unused.
Five people were rescued, and three of them admitted to local hospitals, the media reported.
