With over 20 years of international experience in the financial markets, Tim Fox has been serving as Chief Economist of Emirates NBD in Dubai since November 2008.
In this capacity, he and his team support all the functions of the bank. Tim is responsible for the development, coordination, and production of economic and financial analysis and reports, with a focus on global and regional economies and financial markets.
Prior to joining Emirates NBD, Tim worked at a number of investment banks in London and New York, where his focus ranged from the foreign exchange markets to G10 and emerging market economies.
Tim graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1985, and he is a frequent commentator on global and regional business events.

Marios Maratheftis is an expert on the global economy and financial markets. He has several years experience in emerging markets, having graduated from the University of Warwick with an MSc in Economics and Finance and a BSc in Economics. He initially worked as an econometrician in his native Cyprus where he advised the Central Bank on foreign exchange related issues. Marios then took on the role of economist and Senior FX strategist with Standard Chartered Bank based in London, where he played an active role in the management of the Bank’s FX Strategy real money portfolio. He has attracted a large following with the accuracy of his forecasts and his ability to give engaging presentations on a wide variety of financial issues.
He has authored a number of financial and academic articles, and appears regularly in the international media. His job has taken him across the Bank’s franchises in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Marios was promoted to the role of Regional Head of Research for the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia in 2007. In 2010 he became Head of Research for the West which includes the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Marios has been promoted to global head of macro research and has been given additional responsibility over Asia. He is based in Dubai with his family.

After a total of 35 years of involvement in the international precious metals market working with major bullion banks and financial institutions, Jeffrey founded Rhodes Precious Metals Consultancy DMCC in December 2013. The company provides management and consultancy services to existing companies already active in the global precious metals industry and to aspiring new entries to the world of gold, silver and the platinum group of metals.
Widely recognized as a leading figure in the international bullion market, with a career spanning four continents and decades, Jeffrey has helped his previous employers to develop their precious metals portfolios in the Middle East region, Indian sub-Continent and Asia with considerable success, particularly in Dubai’s thriving physical gold market. He has been prominent in the development of the Dubai Multi Commodity Centre and has been a member of Dubai’s Gold Advisory Group since its inception in 2003. He has a regular weekly slot on Dubai’s leading morning business radio show, Dubai Eye 103.80, talking about precious metals; he is a frequent guest on regional financial TV; participates regularly as a speaker at major precious metals conferences around the world; and is a past chairman of the Public Affairs Committee of the London Bullion Market Association.
In April 2013 a major new book authored by Francesca Taylor and titled “Mastering The Commodities Markets” was published (by Pearson/the FT) in which Jeffrey wrote the section on precious metals. The book was launched in Dubai during the Dubai Precious Metals Conference held at the DMCC’s famous Almas Tower location.
