Baby ‘mistakenly’ declared dead in India dies after five days
A baby, who was “mistakenly” declared dead by doctors in India’s capital Delhi last week, has died in another hospital where he was being treated on Wednesday.
The baby was born at the Max Super Speciality Hospital last Thursday but pronounced dead two hours after his twin was stillborn.
The parents later discovered the baby was alive while on their way to his funeral.
The incident sparked a public outrage and the hospital fired two doctors on Sunday.
The state health minister said the hospital’s licence could be cancelled if a probe found it guilty of medical negligence.
