Baby born mid-flight given free air travel for life
A baby born mid-flight on a Jet Airways flight from Saudi Arabia to India has been given free air travel for life.
The flight had to be diverted to Mumbai after the boy’s mother went into premature labour and had the baby at an altitude of 35,000 feet with the help of the cabin crew and a trained nurse onboard, before the plane could land.
It marks the first mid-flight birth for the India-based airline.
Earlier this year, the cabin crew on a Turkish Airlines flight celebrated the arrival of an extra passenger at 42,000 feet when a woman gave birth to a baby girl.
