At least 9 killed in Taiwan hospital fire
At least nine people have been killed and 16 others injured after a fire broke out in a public hospital in northern Taiwan early Monday.
According to reports, the incident took place on the seventh floor of the Weifu hospital in Xinzhuang district.
About 76 rescue vehicles and some 276 firefighters managed to control the fire within an hour and evacuate 33 patients and three hospital staff members.
The cause of the fire is still unknown but some media reports suggest it was started by an electrical fault in a moveable bed.
