Andy Murray corrects reporter's 'casual sexism'

Tennis star Andy Murray has won praises for pointing out a journalist’s “casual sexism” during a post-match press conference at Wimbledon.

He interrupted the reporter after he suggested that Sam Querrey was the first American to reach a semi-final in Wimbledon since 2009, and reminded him that he was only talking about male players.

On social media, Murray was praised, and his mother Judy tweeted; “That’s my boy.”

Murray suffered a shock five-set defeat to Querrey in the quarter-finals.
