WATCH AMAZING DUBAI

Yesterday Dubai Opera were selling 46 tickets for AED 46 to give back to the community on what is the 46th National Day weekend. They ran out pretty quickly. However, there are still some tickets available for Amazing Dubai. This is Dubai’s first musical telling the story of how the Dubai we all live in now was created. It has its home at Madinat Theatre.

NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE

The Courtyard Playhouse have a National Theatre live show screening tonight of Hedda Garbler. Tony Award-winning director Ivo van Hove returns to National Theatre Live screens with a modern production of Ibsen’s masterpiece. Ruth Wilson from Luther, The Affair and Jane Eyre plays the title role in the new version.

 GO CAMPING

LIWA – you know where Star Wars was filmed? What better way to wait for the new movie than visiting the location of the last one?

FOSSIL ROCK – Sharjah – you’ll see plenty of dune bashers and dune buggy riders to trail runners. The Camel Rock nearby is also worth a visit, as is Big Red, a huge red dune that’s popular with dune buggying daredevils.

City Walk is fast becoming one of our favourite places to head to on a weekend – across the entire long weekend there’s a festival happening with heaps of things to keep all of the family busy.

How do we feel about fireworks?

Helen from The Mothership – a great and very frank parenting blog was on the show this week and told us where we can catch all of the fireworks happening starting from 9pm tomorrow night.

CAMEL MARATHON – SUNDAY

We have found a very good reason for an early alarm call on a day off work I think.

You’ll need to tell Google Maps that you’re going to Dubai International Endurance City. This is a one off experience. The kind you will probably only ever have here. If you’ve got kids this will be a real memory for them when they were growing up in the dessert.
